My Bio
Hi!
My name is Danae and I’m a second-year medical student at the University of Alberta. I grew up in rural, urban, and northern Alberta and have settled in Edmonton for the past few years! Before medical school I completed a BSc in Honors Neuroscience at the UofA and competed for the Varsity Cross-Country and Track and Field teams. I love running and am passionate about maintaining balance and wellness throughout our education journeys. I have leadership and coaching experience through my extracurricular activities as a private French immersion tutor, Study Buddy for Elementary students, and student mentor for Rural High School students.
When I was applying to medical school, I remember feeling that my education, research experience, and extracurriculars didn’t appear congruent on paper. One of the most valuable pieces of advice that I received was to present them as my story- to highlight my passions and motivations for each activity. My goal as a coach is to help you do this! I endeavour to help you navigate the complexities of the application process so that you and your unique story can shine through!
We will set our goals at the beginning of each session to ensure that we meet your needs and expectations. I will do my best to share all the tips, feedback, and advice that I have gathered along the way. I am happy to chat about advice in general, written application tips, CASPer preparation, and interview practice. Please feel free to reach out with any questions at all! If you would like to book a session outside of my availability, please contact me and we can arrange for a session that fits both of our schedules. Looking forward to working with you and best of luck!
