My Bio

Kacylia Roy Proulx
McGill (Fr & En)
Hello everyone! My name is Kacylia Roy Proulx. I am currently a first-year medical student at McGill University after completing the Med-P Preparatory Year, as I was accepted into medical school as a CEGEP applicant. Having been accepted into Quebec’s four medical schools without being on a waiting list, I have made it my mission as a MedCoach to help many students from diverse backgrounds develop the necessary skills to achieve their goals with confidence and act on their greatest strengths. The medical school application process, although exciting, can be quite lengthy and stressful. Therefore, I am committed to providing you with the appropriate resources and support to help you, hopefully, fulfill your dream of being accepted into medical school. I am perfectly trilingual (French, English and Spanish) and I am keen to accompany my mentees in all stages of their application, whether it is for CV correction, CASPer advice or MMI practice. Although they may seem overwhelming, the CASPer and the MMIs are a unique opportunity to showcase your personality and values, and my goal is to help you formulate your thoughts and prove the medical faculties that you possess the competencies to work in healthcare!
Parallel to my medical journey, I am currently involved in a research project in global surgery, as global health and surgery are of great interest to me after having participated in many humanitarian missions in underdeveloped countries. I am also involved in the Medical Students' Society as Vice President of Global Health, where I coordinate projects aimed to improve the overall population health and reduce health inequalities on a local and international level. I am also the founder of an international Global Health Podcast and am involved in the International Federation of Medical Student Associations (IFMSA) as the Campus Coordinator of McGill University. As an adventurer and nature lover, I am also the Co-President of the Wilderness Medicine Interest Group and organize many outdoor activities for medical students.
Outside of medical school, my interests span from music to sports to entrepreneurship. Having practiced many sports since a young age, I am currently a varsity rowing athlete, training more than 15 hours a week and competing on a national level. In addition to being a full-time student-athlete, I am also the president and founder of two companies. Being an adrenaline junkie and a globetrotter with more than 30 countries deep, I spend my free time (yes, you do have some free time even in medical school!) travelling, mountaineering, skydiving, sailing, hiking, scuba diving (and, of course, partying)!
If no availability match your schedule, send me a message and we can find a time to meet!
