Resident MedCoach
Hi all!
I have a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a specialization in Global Health from McMaster University and completed my medical school at McMaster as well. Currently, I am a first-year family medicine resident at the Kitchener-Waterloo Site which is a part of McMaster. Through all my years at McMaster, I was a part of the varsity rowing team, founded the McMaster Public Health Association and was a peer tutor for a second-year Biochemistry and Cellular Biology course. Specifically, I have taken courses such as communications skills and group process and group dynamics enabling me to connect with a variety of individuals and help you succeed in your interviews! I also have a background in debate since high school and have mentored students in public speaking as well. My teaching philosophy is simple, I want to help you become the best you, you can be!
I understand that the medical school application process can be daunting, having gone through it twice I am aware of the changes I made to be successful the second time around. The biggest change was asking for help during the process when needed. It is hard to prep for interviews or the CASPer test on your own and hence alongside some peers we set up a local practice group that met bi-weekly and I also was a part of the MedCoach Weekly MMI program during interview season. Practicing with another individual is so vital as it provides you with a lot of insight into other means of approaching a prompt and can also help identify nuances in your speech that may not be visible to you.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, kayaking and being out in nature. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you throughout your journey!
