My Bio

Olivia

UofT

Hello!

My name is Olivia. I originally completed my HBSc at the University of Toronto with majors in Neuroscience and Psychology, and have worked at The Hospital for Sick Children in Genetics since then. During my time between my undergraduate degree and medical school, I also returned to UofT to study Theatre, Literature, and Film. I love teaching, and passing knowledge onto others, and have also been very fortunate to work as a teaching assistant in Statistics since 2016.

I know how much uncertainty there can be in the medical school application and interview process, and the incredible difference it makes to have support along the way! I joined as a MedCoach student to develop the skills necessary to confidently enter interviews, and it made all the difference. With every coaching session, I could feel myself growing as an applicant, learning strategies that I could apply to questions I was given during interviews. I hope to be able to pass these skills onto the next cohort of medical school applicants, so they too can feel ready to tackle whatever the interview throws at them! I’m thankful to have had opportunities to interview at schools across Canada, and to be able to speak to the similarities and differences amongst them.

I’m currently in UofT’s MD-PhD Program, with a particular interest in genetics and emergency medicine. I’m also very passionate about the intersection of medicine and the arts, in particular, the representation of the body and disability in theatre and film. In my free time, I love running and screenwriting, and staying connected with friends and family 🙂

Olivia is amazing and so kind and encouraging! I love that she designs her own questions around the schools you're applying for, which prevented any questions that I'd seen before from coming up again, and hit some really important topics around current issues in Canadian healthcare. She's incredible at coaching and so knowledgeable.
