A bit about me:

Hi all! My name is Manasi and I am a first-year medical student at McMaster University. I have a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a specialization in Global Health from McMaster University. Through my years at McMaster, I was a part of the varsity rowing team, founded a club the McMaster Public Health Association and was a peer tutor for a second year Biochemistry and Cellular Biology course. Specifically, I have taken courses such as communications skills and group process and group dynamics enabling me to connect with a variety of individuals and help you succeed in your interviews! I also have a background in debate since high school and have mentored students in public speaking as well. My teaching philosophy is simple, I want to help you become the best you, you can be!

I understand that the medical school application process can be daunting, having gone through it twice I am aware of the changes I made to be successful the second time around. The biggest change was asking for help during the process when needed. It is hard to prep for interviews or the CASPer test on your own and hence alongside some peers we set up a local practice group that met bi-weekly and I also was a part of the MedCoach Weekly MMI program during interview season. Practicing with another individual is so vital as it provides you with a lot of insight into other means of approaching a prompt and can also help identify nuances in your speech that may not be visible to you.

My current interests in the field of medicine are broad and will hopefully becoming more specialized as I traverse through medical school. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, kayaking and being out in nature. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you throughout your journey!

Scheduling:
As of now, I am quite flexible and if the times posted do not work for you, please feel free to message me and we can figure out another mutually convenient time.

  1. Manasi is polite, kind and very understanding of an applicant’s needs.

I had one CASPER prep session and it was very helpful. Manasi gave many tips and walked through each aspect of the CASPER exam, line by line.

She gave personalized feedback on a CASPER exam I had written with Med Coach (Exam #2).

I highly recommend her for your CASPER preparation. Come interview season, I’m sure she would be a fantastic resource for further coaching.

  2. Manasi has deep understanding of the categories of questions that are likely to be asked on the MMI. Her easy to follow breakdown of the answers that need to follow each type of question, and the proper structure for each answer has been most helpful. I also really enjoyed her personalized feedback after each session. She is a great coach and one that I highly recommend.

  3. I recruited Manasi’s help in preparing for the MMI interview. She is an incredible resource of information and techniques to improve your interview presentation. She provided insightful and personalized remarks that helped me push my presentation / interview skills to the next level. We did a lot of acting based scenarios, which I was at first quite intimidated with. However, with her support I got better and more confident with my presentation. She was also incredible in providing me support a day before the interview and served as a great resource throughout the interview preparation process. I highly recommend her!

  4. Manasi is an excellent interview coach! She prepares very realistic scenarios that are similar to the style of questions that you would actually get in an MMI. She did a great job of exploring all perspectives that could be taken in MMI scenarios when providing feedback so you know exactly what you missed/need to improve upon in your answers. She is especially helpful with preparing for personal/panel-style interview questions and gives great examples/advice on how to improve your answers so that you can communicate your personal qualities effectively during interviews. As a medical school re-applicant who was rejected post-interview last year, I left my interview this year feeling so much more confident and well-prepared as a result of the support and coaching that I received from Manasi. I would highly recommend Manasi to anyone who is going through the medical school interview process!
