A bit about me:

Hi! My name is Morgan and I am in my second year of medicine at McMaster University.  I completed my undergrad in Psychology Research at Wilfrid Laurier University with minors in Biology and Chemistry.  While at Laurier, I taught a first year chemistry seminar that focussed on developing approaches to complex problems.  I am very passionate about teaching, because I enjoy helping people develop skills and learn new concepts – especially as they pertain to med school interviews!

As a medical school applicant, I benefited greatly from working with other people to develop interview skills.  In fact, I first joined MedCoach as a student, where I found another student that I worked with to prep for interviews (we are now both in med school).  I felt that learning interview strategies from others, and receiving feedback on my own, played an instrumental role in my acceptances.  From my experiences interviewing across Canada, I can confidently say that exceptional preparation is imperative.  I am eager to help medical school aspirants develop the skills to excel in their interviews.

I am very interested in psychiatry as well as the biological, psychological, and social influences on human behaviour.  I hope one day to teach psychiatry at the university level.  I am also interested in conducting research in these areas.  I love reading, music, writing, and musical theatre.  I co-wrote and featured in the McMaster Med Musical.

  2. I was hoping to be able to meet in -person for my coaching sessions and was hesitant to go ahead with Skype when I found out there were no coaches in my area. Morgan was recommended to me and I am so glad! Morgan truly goes above and beyond with his coaching and feedback. He is thorough and honest in his approach, and provides direction for what to work on between sessions which has been super helpful for me. I can already see my interview skills improving and I am not even finished with all of my coaching sessions. Morgan is very flexible and accommodating when finding times to meet, which makes this whole process much easier being a full-time student and working part-time. I would recommend Morgan to anyone who is looking to strengthen their MMI and panel interview skills – I think you will notice and almost immediate change!
