A bit about yourself: I’m a second year medical student at the University of Toronto, after completing my BSc (Hons) Neuroscience at the University of Alberta. Outside of school, I love playing music – I’ve joined many ensembles as a cellist, and love to play the piano. I also enjoy running and travelling in my spare time. When I was applying for medical schools, I had extracurriculars in many of my interests, such as neuroimaging research, music, and Muay Thai kickboxing. I taught piano and music theory for 8 years before moving to Toronto, and I loved sharing in my students’ successes at performances. There are so many parallels between training as a musician and applying to medical school – hours of preparation, nervousness, sacrifices, and tough decisions every step of the way. I hope to bring out the best in you, and help you get to where you belong!
Application experience: I applied to schools across Canada (University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Manitoba, University of Toronto, University of Ottawa, McMaster University, McGill University). I have interview experience at University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Manitoba, McMaster University, and University of Toronto. I was accepted after my 4 year Bachelor in Science.
