My Bio
Hey! I'm Kevin, a medical student at the University of British Columbia. I am born and raised in Vancouver and went to UBC for my undergrad and graduated with a BSc in Pharmacology. Before medical school, I was heavily involved in basic research for many years spanning a wide range of disciplines from systems biology to nanomedicine. Post-graduation, I worked in industry as a Formulation Scientist at NanoVation Therapeutics. Throughout my education and professional career, I have thoroughly been involved with mentorship and teaching, which led me to a coaching role at MedCoach.
Applying to medical school and the interview process is difficult, especially without any mentors or guidance. I am a first-generation medical student who did not have anyone to look to and completely identify with feeling overwhelmed; however, throughout the years, I have gained insight into how best to uniquely present my strengths while remaining true to myself as an individual. As a coach, I employ the same strategy, where we'll work together to build confidence in your application and help you stand out as a unique individual and shine above the other applicants. We will work together so you can put your best foot forward at every step of the application.
If you want to chat about gaining experience, applications, or interviews, then shoot me a message or book a session! If you would like to book a session but do not see a time that works for you, please contact me via my email (kevinan@student.ubc.ca) and we can arrange for a session that fits both of our schedules. If you're looking for application review services, feel free to send me your application ahead of time so that we can maximize your time during the session.
