My Bio
Wondu
MedCoach
Hello there! My name is Wondu, and I’m a medical student at the University of Toronto. Prior to beginning medical school, I had completed my bachelor’s degree in the honours chemistry program at Carleton University in Ottawa.
During my degree, my research focused on using mass spectrometry in different analytical chemistry applications. I spent a summer operating a mass spectrometer in a supervised injection site to test drugs for content of toxic synthetic opioids like fentanyl and carfentanil. Aside from my studies, my personal activities mainly center around advocating for better accessibility to quality education for youth from disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.
During my medical school application experience I was fortunate enough to interview at, and gain offers from, several Ontario medical schools. I was able to perform well in my interviews by practicing extensively with others and accessing many different resources. I know first-hand just how stressful the medical school application and interview process can be, and I'm happy to use what I learned during my successful experience to help other future medical students!
